A REVIEW OF THE NEXUS BETWEEN ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE BRICS COUNTRIES

The study investigates the long run relationship and causal between energy consumption economic growth in Brics countries during period 1990 – 2013. Pedroni panel co-integration method is applied to analyse among variables. causality variables analysed using Pair-wise Granger-causality technique. study’s results reveal that there a growth, consumption, employment trade openness countries. research outcome further detected unidirectional flowing from consumption. This implies conservation policies curb unnecessary loss could be implemented without adversely affecting growth.
